The Chicago chapter of A Special Wish Foundation, Inc is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children and young adults, from birth through age 20, in the greater Chicago-land area who have been diagnosed with a life threatening condition.
We are a strictly volunteer organization with no "brick and mortar" offices or paid staff. With very low overhead, we are able to direct over 90% of every donation received directly to granting the wishes of our very special kids!
Spencer was pre-med at The University Iowa when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. While undergoing chemo, he reached out to A Special Wish with the wish to meet and skate with the Blackhawks. We are excited to say that the wish was amazing and Spencer has completed chemo and is on the road to a full recovery!
Nineteen-year-old Larie is like most teenagers. She loves music, fashion, spending time with her friends and plenty of shopping. For her wish, Larie wanted a special day trip including time at the spa and a chance to visit Chicago's well-known shopping centers.
Emma was 3 years old at the time she went to Disney and is doing amazing. She has no restrictions and you would never know she had a heart transplant. She loves playing outdoors, Princesses (especially Elsa from Frozen), flowers, bubbles and balloons and is inseparable from her sister.
